Our adventure has officially started with the arrival of 5 Painted Lady Butterfly larvae. This is Thomas's project, and he is so excited!! The larvae will stay in the cup, eating their food for 7-10 days at which point they will enter the "pupal" stage and should hang upside down on the lid and begin to make their "beautiful iridescent chrysalids". Following the 2nd 7-10 days, we'll transport them to our mesh butterfly house........stay tuned!!

I'll be interested to know if yours do better than ours. About 1/2 made it to the butterfly stage, but only one could actually fly away.
