Okay, coolest story! First, look at the picutures below...see the butterfly? We came home from church and Faith saw it on the floor, by the kitchen door...we were amazed at its beauty! and amazed at how it came in the house! We took pictures, and I had them put it outside, then Faith said something about a cocoon, and I went to look at our lemon tree I have been keeping inside the house b/c it's been cold outside...and found its cocoon on the tree!!! I was so excited that a butterfly was born today in my house on my lemon tree!!!! I assume it was this morning b/c when Hannah put it outside, it couldn't fly.....Sunday, February 28, 2010

Backpacking Trip
Tim and Mason went with the High Adventure Scouts on a backpacking trip. The was the first time for them to go on a trip like this where they have to carry everything on their backs.
Backpacking stoves are quite different than your traditional camping stoves.
The guys said that the green beans were terrible.
This "Homestyle Chicken" was a bit hard to choke down.
Fancy Date
Corbin and I attended a "fancy" or, should I say "formal" dinner for his work- it was at the Doubletree in Memphis. You won't believe this, but I actually kept my eyes open until we got home at 1:15 am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The evening had a detailed program, and it was not all serious- in fact, most of it was in jest, with funny skits. But, it was not the kind of program we could leave early without being noticed (sort of a mandatory type attendance, a check in the block if you will). Saturday, February 20, 2010

This and That
We missed the beautiful snow in Ft. Worth last week, but managed to make a snowman when we got home.
The girls were folding laundry and decided that they needed underwear on their heads!
OK- Kelly taught Abby Kate school while I was at the gun range when we were in Houston. It wasn't until today that I looked over her Language lesson that Kelly did with her. Now, either Abby Kate has been paying really close attention when I watch Fox news, or her aunt Kelly gave her some ideas on what to write. The picture above shows the words Abby Kate could use in her "Why I love America" paper, and below is her paper..... hmmm....
I got a pretty good laugh from this! Thanks Kelly!
