Sweet Mal had a bit of a rough morning! We were so excited for her to finally get that dreaded Herbst out of her mouth. They first took off her top brackets...............
then they stared to remove the Herbst.
It did not want to come out! They had to saw and pull and saw and pull. At one point, Mal said, "I smell something burning." Well, that burning smell was her gums. She actually had black, burned areas on her gums where the drill they used to try to remove the appliance had burned her! It was quite painful.
She only got to experience freedom for a few minutes before they started to put her full braces on.
Here she is 1 hour and 45 minutes later! She was such a trooper!!

What a terrible experience...I'm so sorry she had to go through that...She does look SO pretty! Julie
Umm, maybe another orthodontist is in order- one that won't hurt my niece so much!
