The Nimitz Junior High Awards Ceremony was today. They named the Top Ten in the freshman class - 335 students - and Luke took the first rank with a GPA of 5.325. Here he is making his way to the 10 chairs at the front of the gym. They had already counted down the nine before him, and he said he wasn't sure what to expect! Those empty chairs you see were for the Top 20 in academics/character...Luke was later named to that group, as well. It was a special day. He also received the 9th Grade Foreign Language Award and 9th Grade Biology Award. We've really enjoyed his junior high experience...now on to high school!

Luke Named Valedictorian of Freshman Class
